preschool Day 1

Last Monday kicked off Grant's first day of preschool!  Half of his class went the first hour and the second half attended the second hour, we were in the latter class.  He was sooooo anxious all morning and kept asking over and over again if it was time to go to school yet, why we had to wait so long and why he didn't get to bring a snack this time.  When I came down the hallway, that morning, he was already getting himself in his "school clothes!"  I was thrilled, he never does this and in-fact it's usually a challenge to get him out of his pj's.

Once we arrived at school he was hiding just a bit behind my legs being unusually shy but very quickly found his name on the table and started the routine of getting checked in, hands washed, etc.  His best bud, and neighbor, Jack quickly arrived which made everything that much better!

I'll also admit to taking these few photos the day before school started so we didn't have to rush around here the morning of.  I also incorrectly thought we would be in the clear on what to wear the following morning and of course, Grant wanted to wear something else!  Pick your battles, right?  So, you will see in the photos toward the bottom that he chose his "soft pants" (fleece pants he LOVES), his guitar shirt and was having a problem with his socks so chose one brown and one white, sweet!

His class is Mon/Wed/Fri mornings but on Tuesday morning he was again up and getting his "school clothes" on; he was thoroughly disappointed to find out he wasn't going to school that day!  He also wanted to bring something for show and tell each day but his assigned day is Monday so, that has taken a LOT of explanation but I think he's finally got it figured out, we'll see how this week goes!

Wednesday was his first full day and he did GREAT!  He is loving school and tells me his favorite part is the marble game (pictured below).

Climbing during recess with Jack.

Already on "play" laptops, heaven help us!

Way to go Grant, you are already doing so great, we love you Bud!
