Parker Rene ~ July 21, 2010

Children are a gift from God; they are his reward.
Psalm 127:3

Parker Rene was born on July 21, 2010 at 7:04 pm weighing in at 8 lbs, 4 oz and 21 inches in length. He is just perfect and as you can see below, already adored by his big brother Grant! The name Parker comes from my Grandmother's maiden name, Annlouise Parker, and Rene is in honor of Frank's Dad Rene.
Love,

Frank, Abby, Grant & Parker

thankful

After a much too eventful week last week we have much to be thankful for. We are thanking God everyday that Grandpa O is feeling more like himself after suffering a mini-stroke last Tuesday. We are thankful that baby is taking its time to make it's appearance since at my 38 week appt, last Tuesday, I was already 2 cm dialated. We are also extremely thankful that Grant's lingering cough is finally dissipating, therefore, we are all getting a full night's sleep again and we don't have to worry about him hacking on his new baby sister or brother!
We enjoyed an afternoon of sidewalk paint and chalk
Grant loves playing "boo" in his cardboard house

31 BIBLICAL VIRTUES to pray for your kids: #29 Prayerfulness. "Grant, Lord, that my children's lives may be marked by prayerfulness, that they may learn to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests" (Eph. 6:18).

Maybe we will be welcoming baby next!

Summer Fun

We had a delightful day with lots of fun playing with many friends, sand, toys, bouncing on a trampoline and swinging to name a few.

We ended our day at our friends the Johnson's home for a bbq with a few friends from our Care Group

To Grant's surprise we also took home his new big boy bed, a super cool blue racecar and he couldn't have been a happier little boy. It took some convincing to get him into his carseat for the drive home! Thanks again to the Johnson family for this wonderful hand-me-down!

Checked off the list

I'm in list mode. I'm trying to accomplish everything in these few short days/weeks before baby arrives and it feels good to get the blog address changed. Thankfully, I think the only thing that didn't transfer over were everyone's comments that have been posted over the years but all other content seems to have remained in-tact, praise the Lord!

Here is a quick pic from our playdate at the zoo this week, Grant loved it...even though it was almost 100 degrees outside!

#28 of the 31 Biblical Virtues to pray for your kids: Self-discipline. "Father, I pray that my children may acquire a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair" (Prov. 1:3).

Have a great weekend everyone!

Abby's Archives

Since July has arrived I feel as though my days are becoming very few until this baby arrives! With that I feel the need to rename our blog to be a bit more inclusive of the rest of the family, sorry Grant, this is where you begin to feel the initial effects of becoming a big brother ;) I am going to change the URL and thought before I did so I would give a bit of forewarning so those of you who would like to continue to peek into our lives can do so without much hassle. By the end of this week I am hopeful to have relocated to: http://abbysarchives.blogspot.com/

Happy 4th of July!

After a week of fevers and yucky noses Grant and I both recovered on the couch together. Fortunately, we were feeling better in time for fourth of July festivities at Grandpa and Grandma R's for the weekend.
We stayed at Great-Grandma Billie's house and Grant loved feeding the fish with her each day!

A quick family picture on the night of the 4th, it was COLD!
