Let's see...

Let's see, we'll start with what we've been up to as of late. Sunday we attended our niece, Francesca's baptism and enjoyed an afternoon with Frank's family. When returning home on Sunday night Grant decided to not sleep and has since come down with his first official head cold, not fun. We had a party in his crib last night from about 2 until 4:30, poor little guy! It's not fun when you can't breathe and he's just plain grumpy because of it! In effort to help his congestion we've elevated one end of his matress but the little turkey manages to get his head and feet turned around so his feet end up higher than his head...hmmmm???

Thankfully, today we had a friend and her daughter over for a few hours to play which helped pass the day since Grant's been confined to the house. I'm looking forward to MOMs at church tomorrow & getting out of the house, hopefully tonight includes a few more hours of sleep than last!

Sweet Dreams!

Bouncy House

Today Grant and I met some friends to play at the Bouncy House. This is going to be one of our new favorite places until he turns one...he's free of charge until then :) Thanks to AJ for letting us in on this little secret!

Grant's friends Abby & Cohen were his playdate today!

Okay...so maybe this will be my new favorite place, by the end Grant had been "bounced" enough and was ready for a little break. His face says it all!

I love you bud, you're a good sport!

Owl Face

I would like to introduce "Owl Face!" This lovely face comes complimentary from Grandpa O. While at home for Christmas my dad decided it would be fun to give Grant some icing from his cinnamon roll and this is the face that ensued. Ever since when anyone starts making this face Grant will imitate, it is pretty funny and he always seems quite pleased with himself!

We had our first game night of 2009, a new year resolution I had, with our friends Jenna & Austin.

This 'n That

Well, it finally feels as though I am truly a stay-at-home mom, Praise God! I am still keeping busy but in a much different way and I must say that I am loving every minute of it. There are days, such as today, that test me a bit but I feel I am growing and learning to take what comes since no two days are the same with a small child rolling around under foot!

These past couple of weeks have already been consumed with story hour, MOMS group at church, play dates, runs & walks through the parks and golf course, game night with friends and a number of other mommy things. Things I knew I was missing out on while at work but tried not to think about too much in effort to spare myself the torture. What a blessing this time in my life has already been, I wouldn't trade it for the world and I suspect as our little guy becomes more and more active it will become even more fun!

Lastly, since I am a bit behind in my ramblings as of late I thought it newsworthy to share that Grant has his bottom two teeth 1/2 way in, he is rolling around and scooting, but not crawling, and has had his first "official" babysitters! Frank & I enjoyed an evening out while Grant's Auntie Pri & Uncle Brian watched him, I think he's ready for them to come back, we're not quite as fun as they were :)

I aspire to keep this blog more updated on our daily happenings and now that Frank & I both have computers to work from I believe I have a better chance of making that happen! So, now...the reason you're even looking at this blog....a few new pictures of Mr. Grant to share...

Happy Belated Birthday & Merry Christmas!

Since we traveled over the Holidays, and had terrible weather leading up to our departure, we were unable to celebrate birthdays and Christmas with Frank's family prior to leaving. This weekend we had a great time with everyone coming down to spend the day with us! Unfortunately, there aren't more pictures to share, Frank was in charge of the camera :)

Happy 8 months!

Happy 8 months Grant! We can hardly believe it is 2009 and you're on your way to turning 1! These pictures are of you on the couch because earlier in the day you rolled off it for the first...and hopefully last time. You are lunging for things now and couldn't resist going for the remote control and then proceeded to roll right off. Thankfully you're a tough little guy with a hard head, there were only a few tears and after a couple of minutes you were ready to try again. You are all boy!

Have a Beary good night!

Thanks Auntie Pri & Uncle Brian for my bear suit, I love it and will growl at any girls who come near me :)

Happy New Year!

Let there be no mistake, we did NOT make it to midnight but did manage to make it over to celebrate for a few hours with friends. We pray for another healthy and fun year together enjoying all of Grant's "firsts" in 2009!

Just wait until next year!

We can only imagine how different next year will be celebrating Christ's birth with our little guy. This year Grant was definitely intrigued by everything going on around him but I trust we will be amazed at his level of activity and hopefully his understanding of what we're truly celebrating next Christmas. Maybe he'll be brushing Mary's teeth in the Nativity like his buddy Jonathan was this year! Ha!

There's nothing like a good friend...

Just looking at these pictures brings a tear to my eye, what a true blessing good friends are. My "sisters," Sarah & Carla brought their boys over for a very busy afternoon & evening, what fun! I anticipate many games of "touch" football in our backyards in the years to come. We are working on how to all someday live in the same city....I will never give up that dream!! Love you girls!

Playing in the Snow

As crazy as it may seem I truly miss the snowflakes from home this time of year. It was fun being able to share this with Grant though the freezing cold temperatures were not one of our favorites!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Bud, we're already looking forward to the fun next year!

Grant was almost asleep on Grandpa O while opening presents so he had to take a quick nap!

Wow, time flies when you're having fun...and when everyone is sick! It feels like forever since I have updated our blog so I will attempt over the course of the next few days to post our highlights from the past few weeks.

Christmas Eve
