options

So, on Thursday, after the walking debut, Grant decided he likes having options so is now crawling too! He much prefers walking but if necessary will crawl to get to something to pull himself up or to get a toy he is eyeing. He's moving more and more each day, I'm not sure we're ready for this quick transition but love it none-the-less!

Hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend.

Love,
Abby

First Steps

Yesterday was a pretty big day in our house, Grant decided it was time to walk on his own! Evidently we can forget about crawling?! Oh boy, we are in some serious trouble over here! He's been cruising furniture for awhile, pulling himself up on things, we often let go of him and he remains standing for a bit before falling down, walking a LOT while holding our hands but only taking some wobbly steps between his Daddy & I, nothing too courageous on his own.

Well, yesterday I had some friends over with their little ones so I guess he decided since he had an audience it was a good time to make his walking debut. I was holding his hands and was letting him go to see how long he would stand up unassisted and he would take a few steps and I would catch him. This time in particular he got his balance and kept going and walked right over to my friend Erin & her little guy Wes, about five steps in total and then just stood there before falling! We were dumbfounded!

Here are some photos with our friends Darcy & Lucy, and Erin & Wesley.

HOWDY

Grant looking cute today toddling around the coffee table in his Howdy hand-me-down!
Auntie Pri, this one is for you :)

Peek-a-boo!

Catch-up

We are playing catch-up now that Grant & I are both feeling better and all that's left is a really runny nose & a nice cough.

#8 Biblical Virtue to pray for your little ones: Mercy

"May my children always be merciful, just as their Father is merciful" (Lk. 6:36).

Lastly, I thought this picture was a good one showing off Grant's two lower teeth. His top two are coming in nicely these days and I'm convinced it is only a matter of time before he's got a mouth full.

Day 3

Well, today is day 3 of confinement for Mr. Grant & I. Thankfully the sleeping has improved since this all started Sunday night. We are enjoying a bit longer naps during the day, longer stretches of sleep at night but have yet to have much of his appetite return...such a little peanut! I know...this too shall pass, hopefully more sooner than later!

A few photos from this week in his St. Patty's Day green....

Getting some exercise in...
Trying to get up the step backwards?!!

Cousin Olivia

I just love this picture of Olivia that my sister-in-law sent me from Olivia's 5th birthday last week!

Biblical Virtue #7 ~ Justice

Justice. "God, help my children to love justice as You do and act justly in all they do" (Ps. 11:7, Mic. 6:8)

A quick update too...what I believed to be teething, rookie mom I guess, is a rather nasty cold. Grant has had a fever off and on since yesterday afternoon and slept terrible, if you can even call it that, he was up every hour to 2 hours and was completely miserable. We got our best sleep from 4 AM this morning until about 8 AM, ugh, I don't do those hours well and I'll be the first to admit it. To top it off he gags when we give him any medicine so around 10:45 last night he kicked off the night with throwing up all over his pjs and sleep sack. Let me tell you it was a real party last night....we're praying for a few extra hours of rest tonight!

Happy 10 months little man!

I adore my time with Grant and can hardly believe how fast the minutes, days, months have ticked by. Before we know it our baby boy is going to be a little boy walking & running around! Just yesterday I was playing with him and noticed his top, front tooth is starting to pop through and he's been pushing himself backwards & going from laying on his belly to sitting-up. Everyday seems to bring new and exciting things!

Happy Birthdays!

Happy Belated Birthday to Aunt Jeannette & Grandma Susan this weekend and early Birthday wishes to cousin Olivia who will turn 5 tomorrow! We enjoyed celebrating birthdays on Sunday with the family and are convinced Grant loves spending time with his cousins. He can only hope to keep up with them once he's walking!!

I finally made another slide show with the pictures from this weekend but can't get them to load onto the blog so you'll have to click on the link below to see them...some are sideways, don't know what the deal is, they're the correct orientation in my saved photos?!! It's late & I'm out of patience!!

The sixth biblical virtue to pray for your little ones....

"May my children grow to find Your Word more precious than much pure gold and sweeter than honey from the comb" (Ps. 19:10)

Such fun

Where did Grandpa and Grandma go?!!
We're in the beginning stages of baby-proofing!

Thanks Grandpa & Grandma O for the cute outfit from your vacation to the Isla Mujeres Mexico

Thanks for visiting Grandpa & Grandma, we loved having you and can't wait to see you again in a few short months!

We're behind...

Now that Grandpa & Grandma O have left we are getting back into our usual routine so I have some catching-up to do on the blog....many pictures to come.

#5 biblical virtue to pray for your kids

Self-control. "Father, help my children not to be like many others around them, but let them be alert and self-controlled in all they do" (1 Thess. 5:6).

Go Dawgs!

Just as the Huskies are tipping off I thought it perfect to share this picture of Grant rooting for his Daddy's team!
Go DAWGS!
