Bittersweet

I feel as though every time I turn around there is just one more thing reminding me that Grant is no longer a baby. Tonight is one of those moments, he is sleeping in his new "big boy" room for the first time and I'm telling myself it's okay to be a little sad about it. Thankfully, so far so good, he's sound asleep and didn't seem too disgruntled by his change of location. He is still in his crib and we intend on keeping it that way until he can climb out, I have a sense of security knowing he can't meander around in the middle of the night! Sweet dreams everyone~ A

My heart melts

This must be every woman's dream come true...washing dishes! ;) I love my boys!

31 BIBLICAL VIRTUES to pray for your kids: #26. Willingness and ability to work. "Teach my children, Lord, to value work and to work at it with all their heart, as working for the Lord, not men" (Col. 3:23).

Park Birthday

Oh my, Grant had a blast at the park celebrating his birthday with his friends, cupcakes and bubbles! What more could a little boy ask for?

Playing with his friend Kayley...and McKenzie who is in front of them tickling their feet!
Lots of cupcakes were consumed!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bud, we love you like crazy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Grant!

Our little bud turned TWO on Monday....AGGHHHHH!!! I can hardly believe it's been two years since he entered our world and what a couple of years it has been, Wow! I am amazed at how quickly time has passed and what a little boy he has already become. I absolutely adore spending my days with him and thank God for every minute of it.

These days Grant is talking up a storm, putting words and phrases together and making us laugh constantly. He has a great sense of humor, is a very kind and fun-loving lad, and knows he can melt our hearts with just about anything he says or does! He still delights in music/singing and dancing, loves to play "ouside," sleeps like a champ, and doesn't like to sit down...for anything. Frank and I both comment frequently that we desire for even a fraction of his energy!

This year we had a birthday party at our home celebrating with family and then again with his friends later in the week at a park. He has eaten enough cupcakes this week to last him all year, every time I have a 9x13 pan in the kitchen he says, "cupcake, cupcake, want some!"

He has developed a love for airplanes so that was what we gave him on his special day. Oddly enough everyday when he sees or hears an airplane over our house he immediately says, "aipane, aipane, aipane, down, down, down." It is hilarious...and alarming that he wants them to all come down?!

The four cousins painted airplanes for an afternoon party activity

Grant continues to adore his cousins and thoroughly enjoyed finishing his party day at the park with them

Happy Birthday little bud, we love you more than you can imagine, you bring such joy and love to our lives!

Love, Mommy & Daddy

haircut #2

The little man got his second "official" haircut while Grandpa and Grandma O were visiting...needless to say it was just as traumatic as the first one! We won him over with fruit snacks though and the woman cutting his hair was really fast so he survived...look at that little smile when he was finished! Ha!

A visit with Grandpa and Grandma O

Grant adores having Grandpa and Grandma O visit...and why not, he gets thoroughly spoiled and entertained every waking minute of each and every day. I'm pretty sure he's bored with just his Mom and Dad around now!

It was such a blessing to have my parents visit us this month. They always help us tackle multiple household projects while they're here and this time it even involved a few plumbing issues that literally "sprung" up during their stay...fortunately for us, not so fortunate for my Dad ;)

Grant assisting his Papa on the computer...actually trying to turn it off
Enjoying gym class with both Papa and Gama

Grant insisted on Gama putting him down for naps and bed each day

We love you Papa & Gama, thank you for taking the time to make the trip to see us, we miss you!

Happy Mother's Day

This year Mother's Day was that much more special for me as I had my own Mom here with us. It was bittersweet though as just days before my dear friend Jamie suddenly lost her own mother. It is during these times we truly learn to appreciate what we have been blessed with and to not take anything for granted. My heart truly hurts for Jamie and her family and made me try to enjoy and appreciate this special day with my own family all the more.

We were able to squeeze in a play date at the park with some friends in the late afternoon so Grant was in his glory!
I just love it when I can catch these close-up shots of our little guy
