robot & dinosaur

We had a grand time trick or treating this evening!  Our little robot and dinosaur couldn't have been happier...well, let's just say the robot was ecstatic nearly the entire night!

This costume was about the easiest thing to put together and props to my Mom for contributing the vent/duct piping.  The amount of comments and sheer fun Grant had in it makes me want to do it for each of the boys again next year.  Grant loved it and wore it most of the afternoon and evening.  Before going to bed tonight he told me to please hang it in the closet so he could wear it again, ha!

The beginning of the night, heading to our neighbors for dinner followed by some candy hunting in the neighborhood!

Our little dinosaur!  The thighs on this costume were the best!  He left the hood/tail on for about 5 minutes before ripping it off!

Grant with his buddy Jack and Jack's cousins.  Grant was always the last one to the door, singing songs and telling anyone and everyone (or sometimes no one) that he was a robot...."I'm a robot!"  "I'm Mr. Robot Man! "  After every house he'd say, "Mom, I want to get more candy!"  Over and over and over again.

Parker's only house to trick-or-treat at before hanging out in the background with the adults.  Thanks Bear for the box of Nerds for Mommy :)
You know it's been a great night when you get home and start taking your costume off and there's even some candy stuck in the hood of your outfit, hahaha!

Here they are, Grant trying to fend off Parker from his loot!

Happy Halloween everyone!

pumpkin creations

Grant chose our largest pumpkin to carve this year, here he is with Frank discussing their options :)  I love Grant in this shot holding the carving kit instructions, they finally decided on a nice and traditional smiley face pumpkin!

Our creations....a little glitter for Mommy's project, it turned out quite pretty I thought, it makes me smile each time I see it!

Fall

Fall always holds the promise of football and leaves at our house!  Here the boys are ready for another Husky game!  We have been getting a lot of comments from friends and strangers alike that the boys look so much like one another.

Here are their best "cheese" grins!  Parker is now into squinting his eyes whenever he sees me grab the camera, little stinker!

A little rowing of the boat, ahemm, leaf raking last weekend.  Parker had to get in on the action though he hung out inside a lot with Mom so as not to get in the way of the big boys :)

teether

Our little teether.  Poor Bear has been suffering and miserable for a couple of weeks now working on getting some new teeth in.  The count remains at six but we are hopeful any day now he may reveal a few new white gems.  At his 15 month appointment, yesterday, the pediatrician confirmed he's getting his molars, slowly but surely.  Unfortunately, he's pretty crabby these days and most nights is waking up at least once crying and crying and crying.  We are praying this doesn't last much longer!!

toasted

Grant cracks us up with the many things he says these days.

Since Parker has dropped his morning nap it is a race to get home from anywhere we may have been in the mornings without Parker falling asleep in his carseat.  I guess I've been saying, more often than I realize, that I'm going to be toast if Parker falls asleep before we get home because it messes up the rest of our day/night, his afternoon nap is off, yada, yada, yada.

So, Grant has been saying to Parker (and also telling others), "Parker, don't fall asleep or Mom's going to get toasted."  Ahemmm, I don't think so but funny, none-the-less!

super g

I gave in.  Grant was suppose to get this as a Christmas gift but after I got it all sewn together I couldn't resist his consistent requests to be Super G!

toilet paper bandit

And then there is this little guy....the toilet paper bandit!  Four times today I encountered mounds of toilet paper on the floor.  He screams in protest when I remove him from the bathroom, stand between and block him from the toilet paper or close the door so he can't get into the bathrooms.  His big brother did this a handful of times but not a handful of times each day!

toilet boy

This afternoon Grant had just finished peeing in the toilet, by the time I got to where I could see into the bathroom from the kitchen, when I saw Parker splashing one hand around in the toilet/pee water!  ICK!!  And of course Grant just stood there the whole time laughing and watching like it was totally normal for Parker to be doing such!

the bear goes swimming

Parker is almost finished with his first round of swimming lessons.  He LOVES the water, whether it's in the bathtub or swimming pool, he loves to splash and play, play, play.  The only challenge has been keeping him warm by the end of class but otherwise he has no complaints!

Frank typically takes him to class but since he's still out of town it was up to me this week!  Thanks for swimming with me Parker Bear!

Grandpa and Grandma O

I'm afraid to blink because Christmas is going to be here before we know it. The days and weeks are just flying by, please S-L-O-W down!

Fall is certainly here, we are still waiting for all of our leaves to fall and Grant is just itching to get out and rake with his Daddy...and row the boat (he sits on a big tarp while Frank fills it with leaves and then drags it and Grant to the street to dump!). We've been enjoying our schedule, still doing t-ball with Grant, swimming with Parker, bible studies, a zoo trip here and there, playdates, church and Sunday School for the boys. Grandpa and Grandma R and Great-Grandma Billie came for an afternoon to our house and we made a quick pumpkin stealing trip to see them too. Frank is currently in Denver for training and Grandpa and Grandma O are here visiting, yea!

Parker is a walking maniac now (no adult finger holding required!) and can get around pretty quickly. Grant is still a great big brother but we are working diligently on his listening skills!

Grant pretending to be Bob the Builder and working hard on our coffee table, haha!

Pumpkin patch fun with Grandpa and Grandma O

I think this was the highlight of of the patch for both Grant and Grandpa O, Grant's first pony ride!  They both loved the pony, Annie!

Parker was thrilled to be at the patch too!

This photo is to prove I was there too ;)

mooey

It's official, Parker has his first official lovey and his name is Mooey.  When I hand him to Parker he'll instantly start wiggling all over and shove him into his mouth, bite him and snuggle all over him.  He also let's you know if Grant has managed to get his hands on him!

juliet

What a magnificent surprise this was!  Frank's Grandma Billie took my photo of our friend Juliet on our camping trip off of our blog and painted it.  What a talent and a gift, our friend's were thrilled to have this beautiful portrait of their daughter.

This photo of the painting doesn't do it justice.  When Grant saw it he immediately said, "Juliet!".

Great-Grandma's pumpkin patch

Grant begged and begged for weeks to get pumpkins at Great-Grandma Billie's pumpkin patch and a few weekends ago he finally got his wish!  Thanks Great-Grandma!

Once he spotted the pumpkins he took off running for them!

The happy pumpkin hunters ;)

birthday fun

Grant had a grand time at his friend Juliet's 5th birthday party.  We have shared a few laughs that this may be the one and only time he's invited to a girl's birthday party...and an "older" girl at that!

Biblical virtue ~ Love

31 Biblical Virtues to pray for your kids

3. Love.  "Grant, Lord, that my children may learn to live a life of love, through the Spirit who dwells in them" (Gal. 5:25, Eph. 5:2).

Well, we've had one of those weeks at our house!  Parker and I had wonderful head colds that totally zonked me out, Grant decided he no longer needs to take an afternoon nap and Parker switched from taking 2 naps a day to only taking 1!

I kept telling myself to just make it until lunch each day so I could nap while both boys were taking their afternoon naps, hahahaha, the joke was on me!  Much to my dismay it was just one of those weeks and we all suffered but thankfully have made it to the other side, whew!  I always know and trust we will heal and manage to pull through but wow, it is easy to get overwhelmed when we're not all feeling 100% around here.

Thankfully, we had a busy and very fun weekend with pictures to share shortly!
