weekend

We enjoyed spending time this weekend with my college roommate, Karlie, who lives up in Seattle. Of course Grant loved the extra entertainment and company!

Here he is playing follow the leader with his friend Abby at their house last night.
31 Biblical Virtues to pray for your kids:
19. Humility.
"God, please cultivate in my children the ability to show true humility toward all" (Titus 3:2).

trimmed

Grant was "trimmed" this week, if you can even call it that. I am very fond of those blonde locks that have taken the entire 15 months of his life to grow and didn't want to part with many. He was trimmed around the ears and just a touch in the back...probably not enough for the Grandmas to be happy...but guess what, MOM is happy ;o)

yum, yum corn

Grant is enjoying his first ears of corn this summer, so far so good.

We had a fun weekend, rather busy, but fun. I was fortunate to play in a golf tournament with Frank's mom and won some fun prizes! We spent time with Grandpa and Grandma R, had a bbq with our care group from church and enjoyed time with friends on Sunday.
This week we're looking forward to a trip, with friends, to the zoo tomorrow and hopefully some swimming pools to cool off from our hot temperatures later this week. Have a great week everyone!

18. Perseverance
"Lord, teach my children perseverance in all they do, and help them especially to run with perseverance the race marked out for them" (Heb. 12:1).

Love this verse, love it, love it!

where's the baby?

Grant is looking forward to having another buddy, be it a boy or a girl, in this world come September, here he is talking to Pri's belly button/baby ;)

And since it is Monday, here is #17.
Joy. "May my children be filled with the joy given by the Holy Spirit" (1 Thes. 1:6)

Have a joyful day~

weekend please

We are ready for the weekend...at least I am! Thanks for everyone's notes and prayers, Grant is on his way to recovery, much less clingy today and not coughing as much. It's amazing how he can be such a happy little guy with barely a little cough and later the same day he can hardly speak and sounds like a mad seal!
Today he climbed in and out of our toy tub countless times and talked on the phone to all of his peeps ;)

croup

Grant has croup. Who knows where it came from...either the nursery at church on Sunday, music class on Monday, or quite possibly from a shopping cart handle which he insists on sucking on everytime we're at the grocery store, ICK!! What is it with that anyway? And now I'm going to go join him in taking a nap, we're pooped, last night was much too eventful for my liking.

monday

We had a fun and busy weekend with a baby shower at our home for our friends the Shumates. Grant also successfully climbed up onto the couch over the weekend. I've only seen him roll off once in the process of trying to get up, little monkey!

Yesterday, we picked him up from his Sunday school class and they were telling us "Grant Stories," seems they've taken a liking to our little guy. They had him laughing so hard while dancing around the room that they had to stop for fear he couldn't breathe. Finally, today was our last day of music class which he loved so I'm sure we'll have to enroll in another come Fall.

He likes to put our old strainer on top of his head like a helmet ;)

#16 Peace-loving. "Father, let my children make every effort to do what leads to peace" (Rom. 14:19)

Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Abby
